Is Barack Obama reconsidering closing Gitmo?

There have been multiple reports that Obama advisors are looking at alternatives that would be possible if Guantanamo was closed.  None, apparently, are too pleasing.  Mostly, they question what to do if they bring them for trial, and the suspects are acquitted; they don’t really want to release these terrorists.

The NY Times today is reporting that many Obama legal advisors are now suggesting that holding these detainees indefinitely is NOT AGAINST US LAW.

You gotta be kidding.

I cannot believe, in any situation, that Obama would flip flop on this issue.  His supporters would have an aneurysm.  But the debate itself shows how difficult the issue is.  It is easy to criticize; a whole different thing to lead.
