Dick Morris makes a clear, concise argument criticizing how Bush has moved farther left in terms of markets and capitalism than any president since LBJ; yes, even including Bill Clinton.

Then, outgoing Sen. Chuck Hagel, who hasn’t taken a conservative position in years, blasted everyone in his own party on the way out, criticizing them for lack of ideas.  Of course, the last time Sen. Hagel had an idea in that head of his was when, exactly?  And then he spent the bulk of his time attacking Rush Limbaugh.  Really, is that was a sitting senator is wasting his time on?  Attacking an entertainer?   I am not a ‘dittohead’ per se, but Mr. Limbaugh has as much right to say whatever he wants as anyone.  And the reason he has the viewership he has is that he is clearly doing a better job explaining ideas than morons like Hagel.

This is why I am not sorry that so called moderates in our party have been lost to attrition.  What exactly does Sen. Hagel believe?  Did he ever take a clear stand, other than against things?  I don’t think so.  Oh, sure, he is being lauded by the media, but anyone who criticizes the Republican party gets that kind of praise.

We need new ideas; this is the one thing that I agree with Hagel on.  But all these fools who talk nonsense and then provide no ideas need to go.

Bon voyage, Mr. Hagel.  Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
