John Brennan for Director of Central Intelligence? November 25, 2008

To me, this sounds ludicrous.  Why?  Brennan is closely related to the Bush administration’s policies on the war on terror.  He was intimately in-the-know on rendition, waterboarding, etc, as George Tenet’s deputy.  For Obama to select him would be a slap in the face to his lefty friends.

I think this is a trial balloon, and nothing more.  I just can’t see Obama alienating his base so strongly from the beginning.  I wonder if this is a ploy to get another Republican into the office.
