A powerful explosion struck a crowded central bazaar in the chaotic city of Peshawar in Pakistan’s northwest on Friday, killing at least 18 people and injuring around eighty, Pakistani television and news agencies reported on Friday.

Peshawar, in the border region along the west of Pakistan, has been a central point in the battle with Al Qaeda and Taliban forces.    There have been several attacks in the city, including bombing of a Pakistani Air Force Bus, and a bombing at the interprovincial athletic games (the first athletic event since the ban from sports was removed, angering hardline Islamists).

This is further reason for Pakistan to join the Free Democracy Alliance.  Pakistan will only be truly free if they get rid of these terrorists elements from the midst.  Not only is Pakistan’s membership in the world at stake; their survival may be as well.
