How bad is the Auto Industry? December 22, 2008

So bad that Toyota may post its first loss in 70 years…basically, since post war Japan.

Toyota is considered the best run of any international auto maker.  If they cannot make a profit in this storm, no one can.  Additionally, Toyota has stated they may pare back some ‘extraneous costs’…this is thought to refer to its hybrid line, which reports have said lose anywhere from $1000-$5000 per vehicle.
