Geithner, Part 3 January 15, 2009

I have heard this rumored from several websites, as well as Rush Limbaugh, so I wanted to follow-up.  The story goes that the IMG and World Bank give a ‘stipend’ or mark up to their employees to fund the taxes they owe to the U.S. government as an additional supplement to their income.

So I made a call.  I have several friends that work at both the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.  This, is in fact, true.  In fact, when they submit claims to each agency, they have to file a form that makes them sign to CONFIRM THAT THIS IS FOR TAXES OWED TO THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.

This proves that this was more than a simple mistake.  Geithner and Obama must explain how this occurred, and why it is not an impediment for Geithner to being Treasury Secretary, before he can be confirmed.

I’ve heard that as well, and I’m glad you pointed it out.
