In the file of ‘almost too stupid to comment on’, some idiotic constitutional ‘expert’ stated there was some question whether Obama was truly president because either he, or Justice Roberts, or both, flubbed the oath of office.

These people are morons.

Actually, Obama doesn’t technically even have to take the oath.  As of noon Tuesday, he was officially the president.  All powers transferred to him even before the oath of office.  He could refuse the oath, and unless he resigns he would still be president.

The Constitution specifies in Article VI, clause 3:

“The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
So Obama is bound by the oath, whether he takes the oath or not.

Talk about “a nation of whiners!” From Coleman, scrabbling frantically to hang onto his office long past the point of humiliation, to all the closet bigots grasping at any legalistic straw to avoid facing the fact that a black man was clearly elected to the presidency of the United States–why can’t these people just grow up, stop sniveling and get down to work?

The irony is that the people complaining about the oath were liberal historians…it wasn’t really any racism going on, it was just stupidity.
