Illinois Supreme Court denies Blago Removal December 17, 2008

Under Illinois law, the state Supreme Court could have removed the corrupt governor, but they refused to hear the case.  This was a long shot to begin with, and now it appears the removal process will be decided by the legislature in the form of impeachment.
